WELCOME

As we approach the halfway mark in 2018, it is important to reflect on our year and take the steps necessary to ensure that we are making an impact in our communities and in the lives of the people around us. As an organization, we encourage our employees to “do things that matter” outside of the workplace, and we support the causes and initiatives that are important to our TNS family.

In addition, we are proud to partner with so many organizations that facilitate change in the world. If you attend any events that support a cause that you are passionate about or put on events or fundraisers of your own, please let the marketing team know. We would love to spread the word.

What matters to our colleagues, friends and clients matters to us, and we hope with this newsletter we can start a chain of good.

Solution Spotlight: Virtual Private Network

Sunshine, Productivity and VPN Access

With summer almost here, do thoughts of a VPN enter your mind when you think of working from the beach? Employers today are adapting to a Bring your Own Device (BYOD) policy in the workplace which allows employees to access information for personal and professional reasons from their own devices (phone, tablet, or laptop). BYOD leads to comfortability in how to get to that important information, and lends itself to working remotely, which can lead to a higher level of job satisfaction, but there are risks that come along with it.

Employee Spotlight: Matt Schenkman and MuckFestMS

The leader of our ForeSight team, Matt Schenkman, recently participated in MuckFestMS, the mud run to support the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Matt and his team, “Muck-ception,” raced through the rain in Boston on May 19th and raised over $5,000 for MS research.

Matt has a personal connection to MS, so when he was asked by his friend Steph to participate in MuckFestMS in 2014, he joined her team and fundraised for the run. Matt enjoyed the event so much, that he has participated every year since as a team captain and even made MuckFestMS his birthday wish this year. When asked by his twin brother Ben what he wanted for his birthday, his only request was that Ben run alongside him at MuckFestMS 2018. The pair raced through the muddy obstacles together and had an unforgettable experience.

“MuckFest does an amazing job of rewarding the participants, and creating a fun race for everyone involved.”

Matt and his team will keep running in MuckFestMS because the event staff make it easy and fun for participants. There are fun family activities lined up for those attending the event as spectators, as well as a “little muckers” mud obstacle area for children, so they can feel like they are participating too.

The event also provides free event photos, meal vouchers and fundraising incentives for teams – making the months leading up to MuckFestMS just as exciting as the event itself. The MuckFestMS team is also very receptive to participant feedback. Last year Matt and his team suggested creating a Facebook group for team captains to communicate about fundraising events and team goals, and the event staff created a group for the 2018 race season.

“I participate in MuckFest because I know there are people living with MS that can’t”

Although there are many perks to participating in MuckfestMS, the main incentive is impact. Participants enjoy the obstacles and surpassing their fundraising goals, but everyone is focused on the cause. Whether they are there for themselves, a loved one or the community – every MuckFestMS participant is racing for those who can’t, and they will continue to race, raise awareness and fundraise for the MS community as long as they are able.
We are very proud of Matt for all of the work he has done for the MS community, and congratulations to Muck-ception for exceeding their fundraising goals!
